How to ask your customer to reauthorize an account
Refreshing an authorization updates the list of meters on an account. For example, if a utility account holder has a new SAID or meter on their account, this SAID will not show up on an authorization until the authorization has been refreshed.
There are three ways to refresh an authorization:
- Ask the utility account holder to re-authorize an account.
- Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your authorization number. We will refresh it for you.
- Sign up for ongoing monitoring, which will automatically trigger a monthly authorization refresh when the meters are collected.
Authorization refreshes can only collect a new SAID or meter AFTER the first bill PDF. For example, if the first bill for a new SAID is available on June 20th, the authorization must be refreshed after June 20th for the SAID to be collected.
